Responsibilities: Managing multiple IT projects in commercial organizations and governmental institutions while following PMBOK guidances. Selected projects/customers are listed below:
  • JSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (Mining and Metallurgical Company)
    Built and lead the five-person team of professionals while working on project of technical support of the whole customer's information infrastructure consisting of IBM server hardware, EMC storage system, Oracle database and Symantec (Veritas) Cluster and NetBackup software components. The infrastructure was spanned across the main and secondary data centers which were located 2km away from each other to achieve disaster recovery capability. Achieved higher level of customer satisfaction by implementing regular proactive monitoring activity of informational infrastructure. Analyzed and developed an upgrade plan to mitigate bottlenecks and single points of failure.
  • The Federal Financial Monitoring Service (federal executive body aimed at combating money laundering and financing of terrorism)
    Organized preparation work for applying for the governmental tender with full compliance with Russian governmental standards. Managed acquisition and installation of Sun Microsystems hardware and software followed by integration of new components into the customer's information system. Completed work on the plan of efficient data migration onto new hardware in order to make the data layout more transparent and achieve better response times. Introduced multi-level performance monitoring system (Veritas i3) allowing customer to follow database requests and determine the busiest subsystem contributing the most to the total system delay.
  • JSC Savings Bank of the Russian Federation (Samara region branch)
    Initiated a year-long regional (Samara) project of enterprise class storage EMC Symmetrix DMX-3 acquisition and installation. Identical storage systems were installed in two customer data centers to make use of replication functionality protecting customer from major service disruptions. Worked with experienced storage engineers/architects to develop rational layout of disk resources protected with different RAID levels. Managed work on storage area network modifications and server-storage interconnects. Introduced data snapshot functionality in order to shorten backup window.

Responsibilities: Administered ISP servers on FreeBSD, Linux and other Unix-like systems. Among them: Mail, Dialup, FTP, HTTP, primary and secondary DNS, MySQL database servers, statistics and billing servers. Configured and monitored Cisco routers. Designed and constructed LANs. Built customer LAN connection to the Internet, by means of the adress translation (NAT). Assisted in the realization of the ideas of the corporate networks safety by creating the access lists on the router (Firewall).
